Victoria Kearns is joining Naturality to practise Arvigo® Therapy*

We asked her to let you know something about it.

Arvigo® therapy is a combination of massage and insight that concentrates mainly on the abdomen, an area of the body other therapists rarely touch.

The results can be profound.

Mike’s Story

Mike had been a fit and active, fun-loving heavy smoker until he collapsed with a subarachnoid aneurism aged 57. He came to see me a few years later, no longer smoking, on beta-blockers and with a slowly rising PSA (prostrate-specific-antigen) and BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia). He was happily married but had lost his interest in sex and was struggling to maintain an erection. He also experienced cramps in his legs at night that meant he wasn’t sleeping properly.

Along with his first Arvigo® treatment, I showed Mike how to perform the self-care massage which increases circulation to the prostate area. I also sent him away with a tincture including saw palmetto and nettle, some guidance on foods to add to his diet to help with muscle cramps and magnesium salts to bathe in to relax his muscles.

Mike came to see me for two subsequent treatments over the next six-months and I could feel that the congestion in his lower abdominal area was softening. Mike reported that the Arvigo® treatments made him feel amazing for days after and that it was empowering to massage his own body and feel with his own hands the benefit of the treatments he was giving himself. He was also very proud to tell me that after six months his PSA levels had reduced.

Caroline’s story

Caroline came to see me with undiagnosed right-sided lower back pain and unremitting heaviness in her pelvis and legs particularly severe from ovulation to menstruation. Caroline also had an autoimmune disease affecting her lungs but her doctors felt there wasn’t a connection between the two. Caroline was 47, loved the outdoors and otherwise felt good.

On massaging Caroline I could feel that there was congestion above her pelvis and she was tender on the right side of her abdomen. Her lower back was extremely sensitive on the right side and it did not abate with massage to lumbar pressure points. I showed Caroline the self-care techniques, gave her a lymphatic and circulatory tincture including yarrow and dong quai and talked to her about the importance of taking long, deep breaths to help venous blood flow back to the heart.

Caroline came to see me for two more treatments two weeks apart. At first she’d found it difficult to find time to do the self-care and breathing but after the second treatment she began to feel improvements that inspired her to find time each day to breathe and massage, even whilst lying on the sofa watching her favourite TV show.

Caroline isn’t completely free of discomfort but she feels that the herbal medicine combined with regular self-massage has relieved the heaviness in her pelvis and pain in her back, especially around ovulation and in the lead up to menstruation.

What is Arvigo® therapy?

Arvigo® therapy is founded on ancient Maya techniques of external, gentle and non-invasive massage of the abdomen, spine and sacrum. Arvigo® therapy stimulates circulation and blood flow within the abdominal area, supporting the body for optimal function of digestive and fertile health and wellness.
It is a therapy that can be applied throughout every stage of a woman, man or child’s life. Arvigo® therapy incorporates a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, supporting emotional health along with physical health. It combines massage with herbal medicine and dietary and lifestyle guidance. Only by treating the whole person on a physical, emotional and energetic level can true healing take place.

Victoria Kearns

Arvigo® therapy embodies all the messages I didn’t receive during childhood and was blind to during early adulthood – that your health and happiness come from the inside out, not the other way around. Arvigo® therapy helped me to connect with what was going on inside my body, both physically and emotionally, to take the time to listen and to feel awe for the amazing feats my body performs for me every day to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Eventually I decided to train as an Arvigo® therapist, to share the knowledge with other people so that they too can connect with what’s inside their body in order to journey towards health and happiness.

Victoria is available to see patients on Tuesday mornings at Naturality Wellness Centre.

She also practises Herbal Medicine.
