Acupuncturist
TCM & Five Element Acupuncturist –BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, Lic Ac, AAC, M.A. in Physical Education,

I have graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in the highly respected College of Integrated Chinese Medicine where I have studied two different styles: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element acupuncture. In addition to my primary studies, I have pursued further training in Master Tung acupuncture. These three acupuncture styles enables me to address a wide range of conditions, including pain management and emotional issues.

As an integral part of the treatment process, I offer dietary and lifestyle guidance to enhance the effectiveness of acupuncture. Every treatment is personalised for each individual patient, considering their specific symptoms and desired results. In addition to acupuncture, I utilize various techniques, including Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion, Ear Acupuncture, and Electroacupuncture as part of the comprehensive approach to care.

I also hold a master’s degree in Physical Education.

Before stepping onto the path of an acupuncturist, I worked as a movement teacher and director at an acting university – a role I continue until now. As a movement teacher I used to travel worldwide to give workshops and create choreography for performances.

I am a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), one of the main professional bodies that only accepts members who have received training at the minimum degree level.

Discover the Natural Benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is gaining recognition as an effective, natural method for reducing wrinkles and enhancing overall skin quality. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, this process aims to improve blood circulation and stimulate collagen production, leading to a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Research has shown that facial acupuncture can enhance facial contours and improve skin elasticity, providing a non-invasive alternative to cosmetic surgery and Botox.

How It Works

During a cosmetic acupuncture session, fine needles are inserted into the skin at various depths based on the specific treatment and individual needs targeting acupuncture points to lift, revitalise, reduce wrinkles, and stimulate collagen production.

These needles may remain in place for up to 30 minutes. Additional techniques, such as cupping, gua sha, or facial massage, can be incorporated to further enhance the benefits.

Benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture
  • Collagen Production: Stimulates collagen production, reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Inflammation Reduction: Helps reduce inflammation, contributing to a more youthful appearance.
  • Lymphatic drainage: can improve the lymphatic system and reduce puffiness and improve skin tone.
  • Enhanced Skin Quality: Leads to a more radiant complexion and decreased skin sagging by improving muscle tone and skin elasticity.
  • Relaxation: Provides a relaxation effect, reducing facial muscle tension and potentially alleviating symptoms related to TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorders).

Treatment Plan

During the initial appointment, both consultation and treatment will be provided, with follow-up appointments customised to address your specific goals and areas of concern.

Most practitioners recommend a series of 10 to 12 sessions, spaced over several weeks, to achieve optimal results. Maintenance treatments may be suggested to help sustain the benefits, with frequency depending on individual needs and goals.

Safety and Considerations

Facial acupuncture is considered a safer alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures like Botox or surgical facelifts, offering a holistic approach without the associated risks. However, it’s not recommended for certain groups, such as pregnant women or individuals on blood thinners. Consulting with a qualified practitioner is essential to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you.

Comfort During Treatment

Does cosmetic acupuncture hurt?

The needles used are very fine, and while you might feel some pressure, the treatment is not painful. Trained cosmetic acupuncture therapists ensure that needles are inserted with the utmost care and precision to maximise your comfort.
