What to do about Adrenal Fatigue
Do you feel stressed and tired all the time and have a craving for sweet foods?
You may find it difficult to get up in the morning despite having had a good night’s sleep?
If either of these statements sound like you then you may be suffering from adrenal fatigue.
The adrenals are two small glands that sit just on top of the kidneys. Their main function is to keep cortisol and adrenaline (two major stress hormones) in check. An episode of acute stress or prolonged, chronic stress can cause the adrenal glands to become overloaded and therefore ineffective.
This coupled with a diet high in refined sugar and fat, foods which we believe help us to cope with the stress but actually have the opposite effect, can leave the body feeling exhausted and unable to cope.
The good news is that the correct nutritional and lifestyle approach can reverse adrenal fatigue and help you to get your energy back.
